It's a nice song and all, but definitely NOT dubstep. This should have been categorized under electro. Now for some input:
GOOD...
Decent overall sounds, played on 3 separate speakers (earbuds, computer speakers, and surround sound) and could hear all elements of the song clearly.
BAD...
There was no variation in the song, meaning it was very droning. Unless this was how it was meant to sound, I would suggest adding in a main synth lead, guitar lead, something to give it a bit of OOMPH!!

ElectroLord99 responds:

I never realized these things :o
thanks for your input digger :D

very nice track, tho to call it a dubstep song kinda puts it out there. the comments say ambient/breakbeat... seems legit... i'd stick to it. listened to this track on 3 sets of speakers to see if i could hear everything i'm supposed to. with larger speakers you don't hear the softer strings. other than that, good job.

Jimmypig responds:

Yeah definitely breakbeat, I was toying with putting it as DnB but DnB is typically 170-180 and this is 140, so I went safe :p

Which strings? The start ones or the spiccatos?? I'll run through the mixing again once more before the album version so thank you for the input!

Though it's a moderately well put together song, it sounds like it was almost completely made from acid loops. my suggestion would be to change up the piano section a bit as well as make more variation in the beat. thats the bread and butter of the song, and it's what sounds like it came from a can.

Bafana responds:

Not a single loop here.

Just where my mastering abilities where at when I first released the track about 5 years ago.

Thanks for checkin it out!

Not bad. I think you should fix the "vocals" a bit to make them cleaner, yet still keeping the distorted feel. you might try putting some distorted beats or bass behind them, this tends to help in certain cases. possibly fix the grungy bass lines at certain points, it sounds like the bass skips a beat at certain points. in the opening build, i think you should get rid of the beat all together and let that build be the star.... or... incorporate the beat so it sounds like it belongs there.

if you decide to take my suggestions and do some tweaking, feel free to send me the link to the new version.

Gryztecx responds:

hey man i really appriciate the feed back but i can not open the file again for some reason so this is all i can do.

Gotta be honest... the song had little to no actual dubstep qualities. The first 2/3rds of the song was just so muffled and quite literally sounded like I was listening to it with my head underwater. When I could actually hear the beat it was also drown out by all the ambient sounds.

Suggestions:
Make the beat more noticeable throughout the entire song,
Use/Make cleaner audio samples,
Study how other, more successful dubstep artists structure their songs.

All songs have potential, most just need some tweaking and fine tuning. I would personally take this track and give it a few tweaks, then re post.

Hyperion666 responds:

dude... I changed this like 3 times now since i have read your comment..... and the bass is still drowning it out as soon as it plays on ng. its fine when I am tuning it and sounds waay better the way you explained it. but IDK they must have some sort of limiter or something on here for their mucs that i never noticed before till now but anyway i tried and hear what you are talking about and thats not how it really sounds like even on other sites doesn't sound like that only on here.
